National Science Week is an annual celebration of science in Australia, an opportunity to join together to enjoy and explore the wonders and benefits of science. It’s been running for 15 years!
There are loads of ways to get involved – go to an event, visit your local museum, take part in the online national project, organise your own event or get your school involved in an activity.
National Science Week is a Australian Government initiative.

In just two days National Science Week celebrations will begin across the country and we are pleased to announce a whopping 184 events are set to occur in Western Australia—all in the name of science!
The WA National Science Week Coordinating Committee was delighted by the large number of seed grant applications.
Thanks to everyone that applied.
After much deliberation, the following projects were funded:
Celebrate science and give your brain a break this National Science Week by holding a morning tea for friends or colleagues. Register your Brain Break by Friday 27 July to receive a FREE National Science Week pack including quiz questions, activity suggestions, coasters and other promotional items.

Each year the WA Coordinating Committee collates and designs a flyer of National Science Week events. 20,000 flyers are distributed to schools, universities, libraries, telecentres, community centres, cafes and bookstores throughout WA.
